See the bamboo jungle from an elephant’s eye view while trekking on one of these majestic creatures. Skim the waters of the Mekong in a longtail boat towards Laos. Gaze at the mist rising off the hills in the early morning sunshine from your private balcony. Weaving together these different strands, your Anantara adventure is as vibrantly diverse as its lush setting.
Tucked into 160 acres of ancient jungle in northern Thailand, Anantara Golden Triangle Resort & Spa rests on a bluff overlooking the fabled convergence of two rivers and three countries. The region also boasts a rich cultural heritage, as seen in the many hill tribe peoples or at the Hall of Opium Museum. At Anantara Golden Triangle, the natural and cultural merge at our unique onsite Elephant Camp, modelled on traditional mahout villages and home to the resort’s very own gentle giants. Whatever the experience, your Golden Triangle story begins with Anantara.

Elephant Camp Catch a rare glimpse of life in a traditional mahout village at the Anantara Golden Triangle onsite Elephant Camp. Anantara Golden Triangle seeks to preserve these beautiful creatures as well as allow our guests the chance to meet them up close. Learn to ‘drive’ an elephant with your toes brushing the sensitive skin behind flapping ears. Grab your sandals and shorts and help our mahouts bathe the elephants in the Ruak River. Chat with a mahout about different jungle medicines or your favourite elephant’s personality. Most importantly, though, our guests help us to protect and care both for Anantara’s elephants and those in the wild. For more information about these conservation efforts, please see The Golden Triangle Asian Elephant Foundation: www.helpingelephants.org
